The Young Living Standard

What is therapeutic-grade?

There is a big difference between essential oils that are for aroma therapy or for just smelling good and those in the category of "therapeutic grade". I (Heidi) personally have experience with both. When I was practicing as a massage therapist I used essential oils that were not therapeutic grade and only got results that I described as, "Hmm, they smell good at least." I did not notice that they did what they said they were suppose to.

To get the kind of results or healing benefits that these oils are known for one should understand what and where this term of therapeutic grade came from. Young Living has been tested by independent labratories and they have proved that their oils not only meet but often exceed the industry requirements. Gary Young, President of Young Living Essential Oils has rejected ingredients that go into these oils because they didn't meet the internal standards they have, even though it costs the company money.

4 Key areas - PLANTS, PREPARATION, PURITY, and POTENCY

1. PLANTS Young Living products come from plants that are grown from exceptional soil and harvested at just the right time from the right plants. Even in certain geographical areas to ensure the highest quality.

2. PREPARATION Young Living uses a stainless steel distillation process that uses low temperature and pressure which is what captures the "essence" of the plant. This process is what gives the user the purity and quality of oil that is so critical when applying to ones body.

3. PURITY Young Living achieves 100% pure oils by using quality plants and meticulous preparation. They do not use synthetic additives, chemicals, they are free of pesticieds, and heavy metals. They are unadulterated and uncut.

4. POTENCY Each oil has a phytochemical profile, this profile is analyzed to ensure that it exceeds the world standard. The purpose is to make sure each oil delivers the optimal amount of every key plant compound.

Our family has been using Young Living essential oils for over 10 years. We have only just this past year though learned so much more on how to use them and apply them in ways we did not understand when we first learned of them initially. We will be posting more info on our website and we would love to have any questions you would have.

Our website is youngliving.org/heidicurtis and our email address is heidicurtis@youngliving.org.

We can send you an email that gives more info that is not time consuming, little mini commercials that are entertaining, audios too. We are so confident that we have committed to learning all we can about essential oils, something that was lost as a part of everyday life dating back as far as 4500 BC.

Gary Young Blog

dgaryyoung.com/blog is a great place to start to get current and up to date information as to what is going on right now. The articles on frankincense recently are very interesting. Here you will learn also about past topics of discussion and links to all other things related to essential oils.

Myles is thinking of going to Ecuador one day to learn more and participate in a new program where you can get a degree in horticulture and something else, it is all new and currently being developed.

While we don't know what the future holds we do think that having essential oils may be the only "medicine" safely available to use and apply for ones own health issues.
